Connecting People & Ideas.

Doris Palmeros is an award-winning graphic designer and educator based in South Texas. Her career began in New York City at Pushpin Studios, where she developed a deep appreciation for conceptual thinking and storytelling through design. She later co-founded TwinPop Design, creating branding and identity projects for clients including Dr. Seuss and Mattel, before returning to Texas to join Giles Design, where she produced award-winning work across a wide range of industries.
Since joining the University of the Incarnate Word in 2013, Doris has combined professional practice with design education, mentoring the next generation of designers while continuing to collaborate with clients and organizations. Her work spans cultural institutions, restaurants, nonprofits, and educational initiatives, with a focus on creating thoughtful identity systems that communicate with clarity, authenticity, and purpose.
She believes design is more than visual communication—it is a way of connecting people and ideas. Whether developing a brand, designing an exhibition, or guiding students through the creative process, her work is grounded in the belief that design can foster understanding, strengthen communities, and inspire meaningful engagement.
This philosophy also shapes her research, which explores Social Design, Design Advocacy, and the role of design education in cultivating empathy, civic responsibility, and creative agency. Through both practice and scholarship, Doris is committed to demonstrating how design can create lasting connections between people, culture, and community.
